New South Wales
New South Wales offers an excellent array of different career opportunities. A mature market with a huge amount of product volume being produced on a daily basis, New South Wales offers the full gambit of road and rail infrastructure solutions. New South Wales also has a demonstrated track record in exceeding customer satisfaction at a number of major ports and airports. The scope is there for any ambitious employee to get some significant skills and experience that would look great on anyone’s resume!
Downer EDI Works has offices located throughout New South Wales. Our State office is located in Sydney (North Ryde) and there 3 administration centres located at Teralba (Newcastle), Rosehill (Sydney) and Queanbeyan (Canberra). Road maintenance and construction depots are based in Forbes, Bathurst, Mogo, Narrandera, Teralba, Queanbeyan and Young. We also have a large number of Bitumen/Emulsion and Asphalt Plants situated at Bathurst, Rosehill and Queanbeyan.
Victoria
Downer EDI Works' head office and national rail business office is located in the Melbourne CBD. There are 7 Asphalt Plants and 10 Road Maintenance and Construction Depots situated throughout the metropolitan and country areas. The principal office for the road maintenance and construction business is in Port Melbourne.
The Victorian business provides a diverse range of road construction and rail & road maintenance services to the metropolitan and country areas. This includes such activities as maintaining roads for VicRoads, upgrading roads, road surfacing, profiling and stabilising.
Queensland
With infrastructure spending in Queensland reaching unprecedented record levels and the beautiful sunshine and beaches amongst the best in the world, why wouldn’t you want to move to Queensland, the fastest growing state in Australia. Downer EDI Works in Queensland is booming. With an aggressive expansion program well underway Downer EDI Works is well placed to capitalise on the booming economy. With major upgrades of its production facilities underway, Queensland will operate 4 state of the art Asphalt Plants, a Regional office facility located close to the city centre and a number of Road Maintenance, Spray Seal, Surfacing and Civil Construction Crews, Spray Seal Crews and Surfacing crews. Currently we have a permanent presence in Gympie, Bli Bli, Archerfield and Strathpine, so there are plenty of work locations on offer that allow a quick getaway to a weekend swim on a pristine beach.
South Australia
Our State and business office in South Australia is based at Gillman, Adelaide. We have 13 Road Maintenance and Construction Depots situated at rural locations and 3 Bitumen/Emulsion & Asphalt Plants located in suburbs of Adelaide.
The Central Region (SA/NT) business offers world class expertise in the management and maintenance of infrastructure assets for both public and private owners. With an emphasis on quality assurance, the environment, risk management and safety, the Central Region business provides ongoing road network maintenance and construction with a focus on achieving performance targets for clients. The Surfacing component of the business is integral in providing specialist road services in the form of asphalt and bitumen/emulsion production and laying.
Western Australia
The Western Australian business is the most diverse of the Australian businesses. Our State office is based in the Perth suburb of Redcliffe, with regional depots in Maddington, Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha, Geraldton, Northam, Kwinana, and Albany.
Our range of activities include all facets of road maintenance and construction, specialised road services, asphalt production, underground and urban development, rail infrastructure, and civil construction.
Tasmania
Our Tasmanian office is located in Hobart. We operate our Southern Road Maintenance, and Forestry Construction and Asphalt / sealing operations from there. Our Northern Maintenance business operates from Launceston and we also have 10 operational depots throughout the state. We have an asphalt plant in the south and both an asphalt plant and a bitumen/ emulsion plant in the north.
They deliver road and infrastructure maintenance and construction services state wide, as well as providing specialist road services, asphalt and bitumen/ emulsion production.
Northern Territory
The Downer EDI Works state and business office in the Northern Territory is based in Darwin. We also have Road Maintenance and Construction Depots located in Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Katherine. Our Bitumen/Emulsion & Asphalt Plant is located just outside of Darwin at Berrimah.
